Electronic Sudoku Touch Screen PDA Handheld Puzzle Logic (PDA)

Electronic Sudoku Touch Screen PDA Handheld Puzzle Logic Make sure you order from TECHSCALE to get the exact item as advertised. Featuring touch-screen technology, this hand held LCD game, SuDoku, is the most popular, fun, challenging and very addictive puzzle nowadays. The rules are simple to fill in the grid so that every row, column and 3 x 3 box contains the digits 1 through 9. But it is not easy without hints!!Includes over 100,000 puzzles. It operates on 2 AAA batteries (not included). Ideal for travel or anytime.
Customer Review: Waste of money
This is not a true touch screen. If you’ve played a Sudoku puzzle on the Internet, you know how easy an electronic game could be - touch the number and then touch the squares where you want the number to go.

Instead, you have to painstakingly move the arrows that move a cursor or period to the square you want to put a number in, and then you have to move the cursor to another square - you can’t just touch the square.

Numbers are hard to see and tilting the screen can bring out underlying numbers and cursors so you’re not sure which is right.

Most important, you cannot shut off entirely the sounds that are made with the moves so using it in public is a nuisance.

Absolutely not worth the money. Wait for more advanced versions to come out and visit the Australian Sudoku puzzle site in the meantime to see true touch pad puzzles.

I would be embarrassed to give this as a gift and will toss mine away instead and go back to paper and pencil.

Customer Review: Great reviews but you’re not being helpful
I’m one of those people stuck with this card, running windows CE and hence up the creek with NO driver. Those of you that found drivers, please tell us where you found them (links, please) or what they were called. Otherwise your reviews are not very helpful.

Thanks!

Customer Review: Easy Bluetooth Intro
I have thought about Bluetooth accessories for a year or so, but this is my first venture. I installed it on a Dell XPS laptop according to directions, and have had no problems with it. The only device I’m currently running is a mouse, and the setup and operation has been smooth and problem-free. My only gripe is that the card sticks out about 1/2″ from the side of my laptop. I think that’s an unavoidable problem with any card in the slot, however, and it hasn’t been a problem.
Customer Review: I cannot use this device
I didn’t do enough research on the product before I ordered it. It doesn’t support the native Windows XP Blue Tooth drivers provided by Microsoft and the drivers provided by Belkin are not 100% compatible with some of the newer Bluetooth devices available. The only way to get it to work at all is to run the full install from the Belkin CD and it disables the Windows Bluetooth services and replaces them with Belkin services rather than just providing a driver that works with the native windows Bluetooth services. This is most likely because this device has been around since before Microsoft released support for Bluetooth technology. It would be nice if Belkin released an updated driver but they haven’t..

Customer Review: Awesome x51v
This is by far a superior machine to all others out there… If you are familiar with previous PocketPCs than you know what it is to loose all your applications and data because of a full battery drain, and then having to restore from activsync backup which could take hours. Well, the Axim x51v is a giant step forward with the applications and data storage being permanent, even with a total battery drain. This in itself make the machine awesome. I have never had any of the problems anyone else has had on these reviews… (I did the activsync fix right out of the box.) It took a few tries to get bluetooth to work but it now works great. Works fast, clear and bright screen, easy use, permanent memory, etc… If you read a bad review, in my opinion, they are just nitpicking. Awesome machine!!!
Customer Review: BEWARE - Stay away from Dell.
Dell sent me not one but three of these Axims, until I received one that worked properly…for a few months. After numerous calls to people I could barely understand (After 14 calls in 3 months I gave up), an obsurd amount of visits to their website (their web based support equals intense stress) I decided it’s not worth the heartache to fight Dell to fix it or supply a 4th one that might work. I also see on Craigslist many new Dell products people are trying to unload, including many laptops and Axims, no surprise here. Their customer service is deplorable, bar none.

Customer Review: ETEN M600 users
For the keyboard to work with ETEN M600 PDA you have to point the navigator to the company site www.thinkoutside.com FROM YOUR DEVICE connected to the internet where the best driver will be automatically selected and readied for download, download it and install it IN THE DEVICE MEMORY NOT THE SD CARD.

Works fine
Customer Review: Beware for Palm TX and others
I’m very unhappy to have to give such a nice piece of hardware such a low rating. I really liked the keyboard. It’s compact, has a great feel, and is light.

However, it just doesn’t work. The problem is specifically with the software, and not the hardware. The device requires you instal a driver on your PDA, and the current driver for Palm doesn’t work (for other devices see below). The shift key is very erratic, such that you end up with strings that LOoKs lIKe THiS. If you are using a Palm TX, do *not* buy this keyboard. Unless you can do with out using the shift key!

The company promised a revised driver in March for Palm, and as I write this we are well into April and there is no driver yet. They have ignored mine and *many* others’ requests to know what the status is of the update. It’s been a complete and eerie silence.

As far as for other products, as I’ve been frequenting the company’s forum pages often, I have noticed there are other PDAs which are suppose to work but don’t. I *strongly* urge you to go to Think Outside home page, then go to the forum. There is a forum dedicated exclusively to discussing this product. Do a search there on your PDA and see if other people are having problems or not. If there’s nothing there, and your PDA is suppose to work, then you’re probably fine.

Specifically, if you have a palm TX like me, what I would suggest you do, if you have any interest in this keyboard, is to first go to the company home page. Check out the most recent driver for Palm. If they are still on 3.01 which was released in June 2005, don’t buy the keyboard. However, if they have a new driver, I would go to the forum page of Think Outside and see if anyone is having problems with it. If not great, if so continue to beware!

I do think other palm devices aside from the TX have been having trouble, but go to to forums and check for yourself regarding the relevant device.

Always check the support forums for any device before you buy! Ah .. if only I had done that before buying this keyboard!

Good luck!
