Customer Review: Good, but not for use on a lap by a touch typist
Pro–

* Compact size when folded, opens and closes easily.

* Has an on/off power switch (unlike the HP iPaq BT Keyboard), yielding long battery life.

* Relatively easy software interface.

* Removable cradle.

* Includes a number/symbol row of keys, unlike the Stowaway Keyboard which requires alt-key combinations. Essential for numeric data entry.

* The one I bought in auction included included a made-to-fit zippered protective case sealed in the package (unlike the HP keyboard). I note that the Amazon ad makes no mention of this — possibly an omission, possibly not.

* Decent bluetooth connection with a very slight but non-distracting lag.

* Except for the center hinge (see below), feels reasonably sturdy without being bulky. Key action is crisp and clean. Sitting on a flat surface, you can feel confident if your typing is at all heavy-handed.

Con–

* Weak locking mechanism. Not as bad as the HP Bluetooth keyboard, but not much better either.
Sitting on a flat surface, either side of the keyboard has about 3/4 inch of “give”. Thus, when sitting on the user’s lap, the center of the keyboard naturally dips into a “V” shape. I’ve not used the board enough to know for sure, but this weak center feels like it will bend easilly. Not appropriate for mobile use on a lap.

* Key spacing is oppressively and uncomfortably small.
If you’re a touch typist of any experience, this keyboard requires at least a moderate learning curve to get an adequate feel for the key positions.
Even with my very thin fingers, it’s impossible for me to type 45wpm - 98% accuracy as I can get on the sturdy Palm keyboards. On this one, I achieved perhaps 35wpm with 80% accuracy touch typing after 6 weeks of on-again/off-again practice.
If you look at the keys when typing, it’s significantly easier.

This keyboard is a reasonable effort created for those who are not especially skilled typists, and who rarely will use the keyboard in a mobile situation.
This keyboard would be appropriate for someone wanting to answer short emails while sitting at a table in a restaurant. It would not be suitable for a professional assembling a corporate report while sitting in the back seat of someone’s car.
Somewhat overpriced new in the $90-$100 range, it’s not a major rip-off like the HP iPaq BT Folding Keyboard. I got mine new in auction for $65 plus shipping, and regard that as a fair price for an adequate board with noticable deficiencies.
